Prior to this role, he was active as the senior vice president of central operations at Consolidated Edison (Con Edison) of New York Inc., where he was in charge of the plans, designs, operations and maintenance of the company's electric transmission system, substations, primary control center, steam generating plants, steam distribution system, engineering and construction activities. Mr. Blair initially began his career at Con Edison as the vice president of system and transmission operations, and later as the vice president of the Brooklyn-Queens electric operations.

Before embarking on his professional journey, Mr. Blair pursued an education at The City College of New York, where he obtained a bachelor's degree in electrical and electronics engineering. He continued his academic efforts at the St. John's University Peter J. Tobin College of Business, earning a Master of Business Administration. As a commitment to his field, he has completed the senior executive program at Columbia University and has served on the board of the American Association of Blacks in Energy. Likewise dedicated to civic advocacy, Mr. Blair has contributed to the Brooklyn Public Library, the Brooklyn Children's Museum, the local Young Men's Christian Association (YMCA) and the Grove School of Engineer at The City College of New York.

Well-regarded for his contributions to the field, Mr. Blair has received multiple awards, including a Black Achievers Award from the YMCA. Reflecting on his career, he attributes much of his success to his upbringing as an immigrant in a diverse community and the guidance of his mentors in the corporate industry.
